ABOUT THE CREATOR

Once a young, aspiring artist in performance institutions, singer-songwriter Kierstyn Alysse released her first single, “Memories,” on all music platforms at the age of 17. She has been recognized by music great Justin Timberlake, as he mentored her in an 8-week songwriting workshop in 2021 along with a few other great musicians. Inspired by songwriters Nija and The-Dream, she has co-written an R&B jam titled “Got A Vibe” by artist and friend, Mictech. She continues to explore her talents as a songwriter by creating music for various artists and has even found a niche in the world of music journalism and public relations. Her musical background led her to pursue a career in media in order to help independent artists become the next big musicians of our generation. Using her knowledge and experience with industry professionals, Kierstyn is committed to devoting her time to shining a light on other artists. She began this journey in her hometown, Memphis, where she was a contributing journalist for We Are Memphis Music. She also shed light on the music community as a whole through her very own blog, Music Matters, which she started in April 2020. Through Music Matters, she has been able to assist artists with their Artist bios and also help them understand more about the music business. Now in 2023, she is a contributing journalist to an online publication by the name of B Code Media where she writes about the greatness and experiences of HBCU students as well as Hip-Hop music.  She is also a publicist always working to curate events and support future hip-hop talents. Kierstyn is currently a sophomore at Clark Atlanta University and is pursuing a degree in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in Public Relations, while minoring in Commercial Composition & Studio Production.
